The 14th Türkiye Energy Summit featured in-depth discussions on the future of green energy markets, with contributions from top industry experts and leaders. During the “Green Energy Markets” session, Kutalmış Ersoy, representing ZETA (Zero Emissions Traders Alliance), highlighted the critical role of standardization and regional collaboration in accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy. He emphasized that the upcoming launch of Türkiye’s Emissions Trading System (ETS) is a key milestone, aligning the country with global green markets and enhancing its role in the international energy landscape.
In addition to discussing the transformation of green energy markets, the session explored the importance of creating standard sustainable energy products tailored to regional dynamics. These products are crucial for ensuring a successful energy transition, particularly in regions with diverse economic and environmental contexts. Ersoy also pointed out Türkiye’s significant potential to serve as a regional clean energy hub, leveraging its infrastructure, strategic location, and growing commitment to sustainable energy.
The panel, which included experts such as Levent Ozcan Caner from Borusan EnBW Enerji, Eyüp Kaan Moralı from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, and Özge Özen Aksoy from Akenerji, underlined the necessity of cross-border cooperation, transparent market mechanisms, and strong policy frameworks to drive the green energy shift. These conversations marked an important step toward shaping more sustainable, resilient energy systems for the region and highlighted the need for integrated, cooperative efforts to meet decarbonization goals.
