ZETA Global is excited to share the news of our impactful participation at the recent IREC ISTANBUL Meeting, a significant event organized by Foton IREC Platform. This gathering was a crucial step for us in introducing ZETA to the Turkish energy market.
Our CEO, Dr. Jan Haizmann, engaged in meaningful dialogues with members of the Enerji Ticareti Derneği (Energy Traders Association) during this prestigious event. The discussions primarily centered around the vital role of the ZETA initiative in the context of the upcoming climate law in Turkey. Topics like the expected implications of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and carbon trading systems were also explored in depth.
A pivotal outcome of the meeting was the decision to establish a working group aimed at incorporating the energy traders' perspectives into the development of Turkey's future carbon trading framework. We are thrilled to announce that Kutalmış Ersoy will be leading this working group. This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering a transparent market design and advancing towards a net-zero future.
