On June 20, 2024, the CleanTech Business Club (CBC) celebrated its 10th anniversary in Munich and announced a strategic partnership with ZETA (Zero Emissions Traders Alliance). This collaboration aims to boost the development and integration of clean energy markets, particularly in the MENA region, by creating a transparent and liquid market for zero-emissions products.

Objectives of the Partnership:

  • Create a Clean Energy Hub: The partnership seeks to establish a 'Clean Energy Hub' in MENA, leveraging the region's clean energy resources and undeveloped land. This hub will facilitate the trading of low-carbon and renewable energy carriers, enhancing regional and global energy security.
  • Foster Market Development: By promoting market-based mechanisms and providing standard contracts and transaction tools, the partnership aims to support the transition to climate neutrality.
  • Support Policymakers: ZETA will guide policymakers towards cost-efficient paths to 'net zero' emissions, helping shape regulations and policies that promote sustainable energy practices in MENA.
  • Promote Hydrogen and Green Certificates: The focus will be on advancing green hydrogen certificates and developing hydrogen and ammonia price benchmarks to align with international market standards and enhance liquidity in secondary markets.

Through this strategic alliance, CBC and ZETA are set to create a robust ecosystem for clean energy markets, supporting both startups and established companies in transitioning to a sustainable, low-carbon economy. Combining ZETA's market expertise with CBC's international network, this partnership promises significant advancements in the clean energy sector.
