The Zero Emissions Traders Alliance (ZETA) was pleased to host the sixth ZETA roundtable at the Siemens Energy Innovation Center, Exhibition Arena in Abu Dhabi on February 25. The event explored the role of technology in advancing sustainable trading practices.

This interactive session explored how blockchain can safeguard sustainable certificate trading from manipulation, particularly in the development of voluntary certification schemes in the GCC region. It also examined blockchain’s capabilities and limitations in the energy sector.

As a leading expert in blockchain technology, Michael Merz has been at the forefront of PONTON’s blockchain-based infrastructures for energy trading (Enerchain) and grid management (Gridchain) since 2016. He has also contributed to research initiatives such as NEW 4.0 and ETIBLOGG and is the author of Blockchain for B2B Integration.
