5th ZETA Roundtable: ‘Harnessing Technology to Foster Sustainable Trading’

The Zero Emissions Traders Alliance (ZETA) was pleased to host the fifth ZETA roundtable at the Siemens Energy Innovation Center, Exhibition Arena in Abu Dhabi on December 9. The event explored the role of technology in advancing sustainable trading practices.

The importance of technology in advancing sustainable trading practices had never been more critical. As global markets pushed toward climate neutrality, digital innovation stood as the main driver behind efficient, transparent, and accessible trading frameworks. Technology enabled platforms that simplified entry into environmental markets, driving the sustainable evolution through advancements like blockchain, digital certification, and data-driven insights.

The Fifth ZETA Roundtable, held in Abu Dhabi, convened key stakeholders and expert speakers to examine the transformative role of technology in fostering sustainable trading. Discussions focused on blockchain applications, green certificates, and market tools that stimulated decarbonization, empowering industries to accelerate their climate neutrality goals. Committed to facilitating this transition in the GCC region, ZETA emphasized the importance of integrating local markets with international systems, creating a pathway for seamless environmental accountability across borders.

.We extend our gratitude to the distinguished speakers who shared their invaluable insights during the event:

  • Paul van Son, for introducing the Kaspa Industry Initiative and discussing how blockchain technology can foster a transparent, efficient, and inclusive marketplace.
  • Mohamad El Nahi, for explaining how real-time emissions monitoring and the issuance of Environmental Attribute Certificates can support projects of all sizes.
